Boat Port, Brittas Bay.

Car ports aren’t too unusual in the business, but boat ports are another matter.

Our client's requirement for year-round boat storage and maintenance accessibility was the driving force of this build. With ample space to house a boat during the winter months and provisions for crane access, the owner can easily tend to the hull to perform the necessary maintenance.

Crafted from solid Douglas fir and assembled using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, this boat port boasts structural integrity that defies modern construction techniques. With no glue or screws, each joint is a testament to the skill and precision of our craftspeople.

To ensure longevity and resilience against the elements, we opted for a combination of Douglas fir and pressure-treated external-grade timber. While Douglas fir offers natural rot resistance, the addition of pressure-treated timber enhances durability, providing a robust framework.

Adjacent to the boat port, is a workshop space, providing storage for gardening maintenance equipment and additional workspace for DIY projects. Constructed with the same attention to detail and quality materials, this workshop complements the boat port in aesthetics and functionality.
